Sridevi, (Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan - original Name) was born in Sivakasi on 13th August 1963. She was an Indian actress and film producer. She acted in many languages (Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada) films. She is a female superstar and recipient of 5 Filmfare Awards. Sridevi ranked one of the highest-paid actors in the 1980s and 1990s and she was considered to be one of the most popular actresses in Indian cinema.
Bollywood diva started her career as a child artist at the age of 4years in Tamil movie Thunaivan and after that, she also continued to act as a child artist in other language film industry like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. she played her first adult role at age of 13years in Tamil film called "Moondru Mudichu" which was released in the year 1976. She made her Bollywood debut as a lead actress in Solva, Sawan (1978), followed by Himmatwala and Mawaali in the year 1983, Tohfa in (1984), Naya Kadam (1984), Masterji (1985), Maqsad (1985), Nazrana (1987), Mr. India (1987), Waqt Ki Awaz (1988), Chandni (1989). She also received critical acclaim for movies such as Sadma (1983), Nagina (1986), ChaalBaaz (1989), Lamhe (1991), Khuda Gawah (1992), Gumrah (1993), Laadla (1994). Sridevi married film producer "Boney Kapoor" in the year 1996 and they have two daughters, 'Jhanvi' and 'Khushi'. After her marriage, she acted in the film called "Judaai" in the year 1997 which was produced by 'Surinder Kapoor' and directed by 'Raj Kanwar'. Leading actors were Anil Kapoor, Sridevi and Urmila Matondkar.

After the 15year long break, acting queen Sridevi returned back to the film industry with the movie called "English Vinglish" released in the year 2012. In 2013, the Government of India awarded her with Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honor.Sridevi also acted in a film called "MOM" - Indian thriller film (2017) directed by Ravi Udyawar. Produced by his husband Boney Kapoor and by other people Sunil Manchanda, Mukesh Talreja, Naresh Agarwal and Gautam Jain. Music was composed by A.R Rahma, Qutub-E-Kripa. The theme of the story was - Devki, a biology teacher, seeks help from a private detective, after her stepdaughter Arya's rapists are acquitted by the court and vows to take revenge from the culprits.The box office collection for this movie "MOM" was around 64.91 Crores.
Sridevi's last film in Bollywood was "ZERO" with Shah Rukh Khan. She was a special appearance in this movie as a guest role. In the party scene, she will be sharing screen space with actor Shah Rukh, and actress Alia Bhatt and Karisma Kapoor. Apart from all the hype 'Zero' has made due to Shah Rukh's dwarf look, the film would be looked forward watching the legendary actress Sridevi on the silver screen one last time in 2018.

Reason Behind the Death of Sridevi :
Sridevi family was in Dubai to celebrate the marriage of Kapoor’s nephew Mohit Marwah. Due to some work, Boney Kapoor and her small daughter Khushi went back to Mumbai. But, after 3 days Boney Kapoor again he went back to Dubai to surprise Sridevi after talking to her for 10min they planned to go for dinner. So, Sridevi got up to get refresh but she didn't come out from the washroom. So, Boney Kapoor knocked the door but there was no sign from her so he called the hotel boy and broked the door and found Sridevi lying in the bathtub. Boney Kapoor tried to wake up her but no luck immediately with the assistance of family members they rush to the nearby hospital. Doctors have tested her for some time and declared that she was dead before bringing her to hospital. At around 9:30 they informed to other relatives and Indian embassy regarding Sridevi sudden death.
There was a new update stating that the actor Sridevi was under the influence of alcohol. Sridevi died of “accidental drowning” in her Dubai hotel bathtub on Saturday, local police have said. The Dubai police have transferred the case to Dubai Public Prosecution.
The mortal remains of Bollywood actor Sridevi are expected to reach India on Tuesday, as authorities in Dubai continue a investigate further on the sudden death of superstar Sridevi.
The dead body of actor Sridevi was to be handover to their family on Monday but it got delayed due to the submission of post-mortem and toxicology reports. The embalming process is expected to be on Tuesday after which the family would be allowed to bring the actor home to carry out her last rites.
Dubai Police Investigating the circumstances of actor Sridevi’s sudden death. Police have checked the call logs and also questioned the hotel staff and those accompanying her including her husband on Monday.
Indian envoy in UAE "Navdeep Suri" said that they are waiting for "clearance" from Dubai officials. Finally, after three days of female superstar Sridevi in Dubai, the family is yet to receive her body (on Tuesday) to carry out her last rites in Mumbai.
